Paranormal Activity

November 25, 2009

After moving into a suburban home, a couple becomes increasingly disturbed by a nightly demonic presence.
This is the story of Paranormal Activity.

Ok this is a movie that messes with people’s head. Don’t expect great special effects or something like that. This is plain and simple and that’s what makes this movie such a great one.
Returning to the story, this is a couple that moves into their new house, and they start feeling that something isn’t right, they feel like there was someone there, some spirit, they feel a presence in the house. So they felt that the right thing to do was buy a camera for recording the nights and see if it captures something. What was their surprise in the next morning when they see the tape; they got some movement in the house, their bedroom door moves during the night. So they call some ghost hunter or psychic to help them, but after he sees the tape he doesn’t help them. So it’s their fight against some presence.

We see this movie thru the camera that the couple bought and nothing more. It’s a great movie I really recommend to all of you that like this kind of movies.

By the way this movie was almost to not come out if it wasn’t for Steven Spielberg. He saw the film and recommended it to Paramount Pictures. It was also shot an alternative end to the movie suggested by Spielberg.

Now, go watch it.

back in game!

September 9, 2008

Well the period of training is over. Since friday i’ve been in a little vacations, now tomorrow time to go back to school.
It’s gonna be fun see friends i dont see at about four months, get the conversation up to day.

Now i’d like to take this minutes of your time to tell you about some movies. In this few days of vacations i’ve got the opportunity to watch some movies.
So, Iron Man a must watch. Very good movie i was very suprised with this one. We have a good story, good visual effects, we laugh and we see great action scenes. Go look for the movie now!!
The Deaths of Ian Stone, well this one starts very well, but the last 25 minutes … well … not so good, but it’s worth to waste some time watching it!

Sukiyaki Western Django, this is one of the best movies i’ve seen in the last months. This is a story about … well i’m not gonna tell you (lol), just watch this movie you wont regret. Also Quentin Tarantino play a character in this one.

And to end, i’ve seen Pathology, well i didn’t liked it, in fact i didn’t ended watching it. Sucking story.

Now i’m hungry, gonna bite something, and watch Criminal Minds on tv.

See you guys soon.

aladygma

August 31, 2008

I was re-watching Cloverfield, and at the end i remembered looking up for a sequel. I went at the IMDB and didn’t found a sequel, but on the message board they had a link for a website that people think it a was a viral.

So i went at the page, wich is called aladYgma and if you look at it too, you’ll see a black background with some numbers on it. But down at the page there’s “follow the whitespaces”, so if you do a key combination “ctrl+a” (select all), you see a lot of white spaces, and if you click on them you’ll see a lot of images and etc. In one of them you’re asked to enter a code and solve an equation. This got my attention so i went looking for some information about this aladYgma.

So i found on a page that this is a game created by 12 persons all over the world (and according to them there’s famous people included), and it tells a story about a boy who have disappeared, and they need you to help them find him (or something like that). Now, what is making people believing that this is a Cloverfield viral, is that appeared on youtube some videos of a man talking in german and doing some home video to send to his parents, and telling them about is new house, and he started notice some strange activity. Ok paranormal activity doesn’t have nothing to do with Cloverfield, but during the video you ear a noise just like the noise of the monster in Cloverfield.

So i look a further more, and i’ve found some more sites relationed with aladYgma, wich in one of them (1-18-08) we see a bunch of photos, and in one of them we see a big monster(?) blowed up on the beach, and some ships blowed up also and stuff like that. Wich bring us back a while, i dont know if you seen but a few months agora there was a film rolling on the net about cloverfield wich we see one of those oil bases on the ocean being attacked by something, could this be related?

Now, this really get my attention, but its late now and tomorrow i enter in the last week of period of training, so it’s time to sleep. I’ll get back at you as soon as i find something interesting.
See you.

Sunburn

August 6, 2008

Oh, there’s nothing like vacations.

it’s been a calm week, doing absolutely nothing, watching some movies and resting a lot.
I was needing this (lol).

Now that i have time, i could watch two latest movies coming out, Hancock and Wanted. Wich one the worst. A pure waste of time.
In the first, the story sucks hard and the second even worst. Also i took this opportunity to re-watch the X Files series. That were good days.

In one week from now, it’s my birthday (weeeeeeeee) … i’m becoming fuc*ing old (lol). But it’s like people say about the wine, “more older, the better”.
Now time to finish the cigar, and go for a coffee with friends.

See you soon.

Rec.

April 12, 2008

I’ve seen this movie during this week, and this is the winner of this year festival FantasPorto.
At the beggining i was a little, i dont know, i didn’t captivated me. A little boring the first minutes, we’ve got a tour through fireman headquarters and so a little boring.

After that the action begins, i’ve got to say that if you’re looking for zombies like Resident Evil, forget it. Not even close (lol). But they got what it takes to call your attention.
It’s very like Cloverfield we see the movie from the camera man who is filming a documentary.

After 30 minutes of “bla bla bla” finally we have real action, and we have 4 ou 5 persons running for their lifes and then the best of the film comes.
The last 15m are brilliant. The environment is excellent. I dont want to spoil it so i’m gonna stop here.

At the end i can say that, from 1 to 10 i would say a 7.
It could be better if it wasn’t the beggining.

Cloverfield

April 5, 2008

So, i’ve just finished watching Cloverfield, and all i’ve got to say is that, this film is brilliant. It’s been a very very long time since when i had that strange feeling in my stomach, you know that feeling when you really get into the movie and get excited. And also there’s been a long time since a movie lift me off the chair.

The characters are well represented, the monster is very well designed as also the little creatures he drops (those little creatures are a little like “Starship Troopers“).
Also there’s a part (and without spoyling the movie) where you see the troopers attacking the monster, right before the main characters reach the subway, with tanks and rockets and machine guns, wich i loved. You really feel like you’re in the war, one of the best scenes for me. But the movie is full of amazing scenes, since NY burning, air shots, buildings destroyed and etc.

The ideia of you only see what one of the main characters is shooting made this film even more amazing, and also one of the things that made this work so well, is that basically it’s not about the monster. Ok it is about the monster but not in an obsessed way, coz you have a few free shots of the monster.

Enough of saying good things, how about the bad?
I’ve only found one bad thing about this. The runtime. Only 85 minutes, and 10 of them are for final credits. So its basically a 70 to 75 minutes film. It’s too short. But you rapidly forget about that.

For me, from 1 to 10, i give this movie a 9. I’ve loved so much, one of the best films i’ve watched in the last times.

my top10

February 11, 2008

I’ve seen a lot lately from blogs and stuff like that, with top10 this, top10 that, and i kind fill that stupid, and cos’ i’m feeling stupid, i’m gonna do that to.

So here’s my top10 movies

10: Hard Candy (2005)
This is a David Slade film, about a 14 girl that meets an older guy on the internet, and he invites her to go to his place, and she finds out he’s a pedophile, and she starts to”torture” him. When you get at the midle of the film, you just wish the girl dies, cos’ she’s so annoying. An excelente movie

9: Pans Labyrinth (2006)
An Guillermo del Toro film. All happens in Spain, with a litle girl who believes in fairy tails. During the night, she meets a fairy who takes her to an old faun in the center of the labyrinth. He tells her she’s a princess, but must prove her royalty by surviving three gruesome tasks. If she fails, she will never prove herself to be the the true princess.

8: Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003)
From my favourite director, Quentin Tarantino. The film needs no introduction.

7: One Point O (2004)
A Jeff Renfroe movie. After receiving mysterious empty packages inside his apartment, a young computer-programmer begins a personal investigation into their origins.

6: Irreversible (2002)
From Gaspar Noé, it tells us, the events of a tragic night in Paris, but on the reverse. Brilliant.

5: Night Watch (2004)
Who said Russian movies wasn’t good? I’ve put this one, but i refer to the second film also, “Day Watch (2006)”, it tell us the story between light and darkness. Amazing film, a must watch.

4: Cashback (2006)
The story of a boy that after break up with his girlfriend, cant sleep. And have the hability to stop time. I love this film. It’s a Sean Ellis fim.

3: Saw (2004)
And in this year started a new master piece. Saw sequels. I think it doesn’t need any introductions. I count for all the 4 movies. I’m a huge fan of this.

2: Final Fantasy VII – Advent Children (2005)
Tetsuya Nomura created a sequel for one of the best games ever, “Final Fantasy VII. It’s an animated movie, and happens 2 years after the ending of the game. It’s my favourite game, and this movie catch all the magic of the game. Thank you Mr Tetsuya.

1: Natural Born Killers (1994)
Here we go, Tarantino again. Like i said before he’s my favourite director, and he wroted this one. I can only say one word “BRILLIANT”. It’s about two victims of traumatized childhoods become lovers and psychopathic serial murderers irresponsibly glorified by the mass media.

Hope you like some of them on my list, if you dont knew some of them, i highly recomend you take a look at them.

November 1, 2007

I’ve watched this movie last night with a couple of friends, and i’ve got to say, this is fucking brilliant!!! I’ve got to say that i dont remember laugh so much because of a movie.

Ok, i know this is a horror movie, its true, but it has some magnificant parts, it’s like all the stupid things you can remember imaging a sheep do … they do. And i’m not kidding .. they even drive a car in the movie, how about that? lol …

Just take a look.

Grindhouse

October 10, 2007

So, i’ve been today watching both Grindhouse’s, Death Proof and Planet Terror, the first from Quentin Tarantino and the second from Robert Rodriguez, and i got to say that, both films are brilliant.

Most of the characters that enter Death Proof, enter Planet Terror, are known actors like Rose McGowan (that you recognize from Charmed tv show), Bruce Willis, Freddy Rodriguez (from Ugly Betty tv show), Kurt Russel, Zoe Bell , Jordan Ladd (from Hostel II), Vanessa Ferlito (from The Descent, Spider Man2, 24, etc), and many more famous actors.

Talking more about the films, well …
In Death Proof, we see a man (Kurt Russel), wich is a stunt man, and have a thrill for killing young girls in his car … until he meet the wrong persons ..
On Planet Terror .. well … i could say that it’s a litle like Resident Evil, lot of zombies, and blood, and a woman with a gun instead of her right leg, normal stuff (lol).

A real good thing about this two filmes, is that you see a lot of bad functions in the movie, like the tape went of, and stuff like that, very 60’s … very trash movies!

Spend some time and go see this two films, you dont regret and you gonna have a lot of fun.

Stay cool
