The Troll Hunter (2010)

November 26, 2010

“A group of students investigates a series of mysterious bear killings, but learns that there are much more dangerous things going on. They start to follow a mysterious hunter, learning that he is actually a troll hunter.”

This is a Norwegian movie, by André Øvredal. I’m really excited for watching this one. The trailer looks awesome, with great visual effects, considering this is from Norway not Hollywood. I hope it just comes fast to DVD, since there’s no rumors that it will come out in any other country, at least for now.

Take a look a the trailer here.

JJ Abrams new project, Super 8

May 10, 2010

This is the new project from J.J. Abrams titled Super 8. There’s not much about the story itself, just a few trailer that came out these days. All that is know is from the trailer, where we see a truck going against a train and derail. After that something seems trying to get out of the train destroying an compartment.

It was asked to J.J. Abrams if this was the sequel or prequel from Cloverfield and he denied that it had anything to do with Clovie.

So for this is what is known:
– It’s not a Cloverfield sequel or prequel;
– It’s written and directed by J.J. Abrams;
– It’s produced by Steven Spielberg, Bryan Burk and Abrams;
– It will be released in 2011;
– This will be a tribute to Spielberg 1970’s/1980’s Amblin films;
– Takes place in 1979;
– The trailer was shot independently of the film one month ago;
– It will be shot traditionally and not through an handled camera like Cloverfield;
– HeatVision says that actual movie has something to do with “the possibility that a group of kids in 1979 are playing around making movies with their Super 8 cameras”.

See the trailer released so far.

Resident Evil – Afterlife, September 2010

May 4, 2010

“In a world ravaged by a virus infection, turning its victims into the Undead, ALICE (Milla Jovovich), continues on her journey to find survivors and lead them to safety. Her deadly battle with the Umbrella Corporation reaches new heights, but Alice gets some unexpected help from an old friend. A new lead that promises a safe haven from the Undead leads them to Los Angeles, but when they arrive the city is overrun by thousands of Undead and Alice and her comrades are about to step into a deadly trap.”

It’s a new chapter of Alice, and this time she brings help. This time the movie is filmed with James Cameron / Vincent Pace fusion camera system which brings to the screen a new world of details. The trailer is out already (you can check it here) and the release date is set to September 2010 (09/10).

Saw VII, 22 October 2010

May 4, 2010

“As a deadly battle rages over Jigsaw’s brutal legacy, a group of Jigsaw survivors gathers to seek the support of self-help guru and fellow survivor Bobby Dagen, a man whose own dark secrets unleash a new wave of terror.”

It’s the final chapter of the most successful horror franchises in movie history and it brings some surprises. For example Cary Elwes is back. Yes Dr. Gordon is back on the game.

The other surprise is that Saw VII is coming in 3D. I guess this is the right move, it would be foolish not to use now.

As for release date it’s expected to come out in 22 October later this year.
For now, there’s no trailer yet, but it should be out sometime soon.

X Files 3 in December 2012?

May 3, 2010

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson lately in an interview stated that they would like to make a new X Files movie. This is not the first time they mention their intention for a new ride on the X Files.

David Duchovny stated "I love that show. I love the characters on it; yes [I’d do another one],"; "I am so proud of that franchise that, I would like to do it until I have to wear a girdle and a toupee, that’s fine."

Also Frank Spotnitz stated that they’re trying to get a green light for the third movie and said that "As you know the date of December 2012 is an important one in ‘The X-Files,’ and I’d like to focus on that.”.

Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll

April 28, 2010

“In Victorian times, an author who lives by himself in a castle, has visions of a girl named Alice. His name is Lewis Carrol and he finds himself terrified of what waits for him each night. He has become a symptom of his own invention. "Now all my nightmares know my name."”

This is the first long story directed by the always controversial Marilyn Manson. And the film is already getting some controversial comments. This fact is due to the story itself. The movie is a biographic narrative (from the personal perspective of Marilyn Manson) of the great writer Lewis Carrol, the author of Alice in Wonderland.

The film counts with the presence of Marilyn Manson also, which plays the part of Lewis Carrol, but also Tilda Swinton and Lilly Cole.

There’s also a small trailer for the movie which you can watch here! I must say that the trailer contains some impressive images.

It seems an interesting movie; I’ll definitely go to take special attention when this comes out.

Paranormal Entity

February 26, 2010

A few weeks ago i brought to you a movie called “Paranormal Activity”. Now a movie came out called “Paranormal Entity”, the story is something similar to the other. In this one we a have a family (mother, daughter and son) that have lost the husband/father. During the nights the daughter starts to get attacked by some spirit so the son deicide to start recording everything.

So we see the next events through a camera held by the son and two other cameras in the house (one in the living room, the other in the daughter’s room).

It’s basically the same story that “Paranormal Activity”, but if you liked that one, you really should take a look into this. “Paranormal Activity” is definitely better but this one is interesting to.

See trailer here.

Short Story: “Panic Attack”

December 21, 2009

So, I was surfing the internet while I saw this short motion pictures. It’s really a great short story full of special effects.
So as you can see everyone who have an active mind and off course some time to spend on learning the basic software to do this, can create stuff like this.

A very well done job. Enjoy it.

Paranormal Activity

November 25, 2009

After moving into a suburban home, a couple becomes increasingly disturbed by a nightly demonic presence.
This is the story of Paranormal Activity.

Ok this is a movie that messes with people’s head. Don’t expect great special effects or something like that. This is plain and simple and that’s what makes this movie such a great one.
Returning to the story, this is a couple that moves into their new house, and they start feeling that something isn’t right, they feel like there was someone there, some spirit, they feel a presence in the house. So they felt that the right thing to do was buy a camera for recording the nights and see if it captures something. What was their surprise in the next morning when they see the tape; they got some movement in the house, their bedroom door moves during the night. So they call some ghost hunter or psychic to help them, but after he sees the tape he doesn’t help them. So it’s their fight against some presence.

We see this movie thru the camera that the couple bought and nothing more. It’s a great movie I really recommend to all of you that like this kind of movies.

By the way this movie was almost to not come out if it wasn’t for Steven Spielberg. He saw the film and recommended it to Paramount Pictures. It was also shot an alternative end to the movie suggested by Spielberg.

Now, go watch it.
